Pulau Pom Pom

Pulau Pom Pom (Pom Pom Island) located in the epicenter of marine biodiversity. Diving from Pom Pom island offers everything from tiny, but brightly coloured mandarin fish to serene sea turtles. With a range of different dive sites all within a short boat ride of the purpose built dive centre and the world class diving of Sipadan just an hour away there are no excuses for staying dry! Pom Pom is a really beautiful island wonderfully covered with white sand, superb clear waters and shaded by tropical trees.

Pom Pom Island is around 45 minutes by boat from Borneo's coast; it has rich tropical vegetation and is surrounded by white sand and the turquoise waters of the Celebes Sea.

It is on part of this beautiful island that 'Pom Pom Island Resort' finds it home. Pom Pom Island Resort is a a new and exclusive resort located on Celebes Sea (Latitude 04˚36' , Longitude 118˚52'). Geographically, Pom Pom Island is among the few rare islands found on the South China Sea.

This little atoll, which takes about an hour to walk around, is often a shelter for both Green and Hawksbill marine turtles that during the night return to the beach to nest. A beautiful new first class island resort with stunning beaches and crystal waters, conveniently located on the private island of Pom Pom Island about 1 hour by speedboat from the mainland.

There are pathways to most of these places. Scuba diving trips are regularly organized to enjoy the amazing diving scenes. Scuba diving Pom Pom Island is year round with the best time being between April and December. Boat trips to the other islands can be arranged at the resort.

The sea conditions here are slightly more unpredictable then many favourite dive arenas on the east coast and it takes a pretty experienced diver to enjoy the place. It's wild, it's dangerous and it's challenging. If you're a good diver and you're in for a rush of adrenalin, this place is for you.

The weather of Pom Pom Island remains fairly constant throughout the year, with an average temperature around 29 degrees centigrade. Pom Pom Island is a relaxing, easy-going getaway and most of its visitors spend their days sunbathing, napping in hammocks or cooling off in the clear turquoise water.
